You Should Not Do This When Choosing Your Domain Name

If you are going to apply a domain name for your blog, you must remember that you should not use a domain name that has been trademarked.

I will show you an example here:
www.digg.com VS www.digg.com.my

Both of these website are available online. But, Digg.com has trademarked its domain name - Digg.com. So, Digg.com.my has violated the copyright of Digg.com by using “Digg” in its domain name.

Besides, both of them have similar web design. So, users may confuse when using Digg.com.my.

I try to use Alexa.com to check for the traffic of Digg.com.my. It is ranked at 388,139. But, compared to Digg.com:

Digg.com.my traffic is just like nothing when comparing to Digg.com traffic. So, do you think that Digg.com.my has any benefit by using the almost same domain name as Digg.com? The answer is absolutely NO.

So, why do you want to have a domain name that is similar to other popular domain names? Try to give your blog a good domain name just like mine - www.EarningBlog.com.
