Section Targeting For Google Adsense

What is section targeting?
Section targeting helps Google to emphasize on the content in your blog that you think is important. Then, Google will check through the content and show ads that are more related to the content.

How To Implement It?
Actually, to implement section targeting, you just have to add

<!– google_ad_section_start –>

and

<!– google_ad_section_end –>

within the sections which you want Google bot to emphasize on.

Normally, for bloggers, we only hope that Google bot will only emphasize on the blog posts and the blog comments so that the Google Ads shown will be more related to our contents. For example, in EarningBlog.com, I implement these codes within the blog posts I wrote and within the comment area only. And, with this, I always get more related Google Ads to the content I wrote in the blog posts.

Besides, you can also let Google Bot to ignore the sections that you think that are not related to the contents by adding (weight=ignore) to the start tag:

<!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –>

and

<!– google_ad_section_end –>

For me, I added these codes on the sidebar of the this blog. You can look on my sidebars. There are actually too many non-related keywords. So, I hope that Google bot will skip them and not include those keywords when displaying ads in my blog.

If you still do not apply section targeting in your blog, you should start now. This small trick could increase your CTR too.
